Alice recently joined Juro as Marketing Manager. Previously with Thomson Reuters, Alice will be helping the Juro community shake up the world of legal tech and legal design.
Hey Alice, welcome to the team! Tell us a bit about your journey to Juro.
My journey to Juro started through an introduction from an old colleague of mine. I must admit I wasn’t actually looking to move at the time, but I thought I should take a closer look at the opportunity before making a decision. The further I went through the process with Juro, the more excited I became about the role, the company and the product. In the end it was an easy decision to make.
What are you responsible for at Juro?
I look after all things Marketing! Focusing on the strategy, planning and implementation of all our marketing activity. My focus is on building the Juro community of forward-looking lawyers, building and distributing useful content, driving growth and forming meaningful and sustainable partnerships.
What got you interested in legal tech in the first place?
Working at Thomson Reuters for two years I was responsible for marketing a number of legal tech solutions, as well as being embedded in the legal tech community through their partnership with Legal Geek. We even sponsored the award Juro won at Legal Geek’s last conference! I think that legal tech is a really exciting place to be at the moment. With an unprecedented pace of change in the industry, it represents a real opportunity to make a difference in the way that legal services are being delivered.
Which trends do you see happening for in house legal teams in 2018?
I think the continued pressure to find a way to do more with less will be a key issue for in house legal teams this year, especially against the backdrop of major legal events such as GDPR and Brexit. I think we will also see an increased focus on technology adoption as a means of addressing these challenges. What’s most important is prioritising challenges and picking the right tools to help!
How do you think your experience in working with legal teams will help you?
Having worked with legal teams previously I hope to draw on my knowledge of their priorities, challenges and needs, helping to drive the Juro proposition and ensuring that everything is tied back to our customers and what really matters to them. My network within the legal industry will hopefully also enable me to establish important partnerships, growing the Juro brand and helping to change the way lawyers think about contracts.
What is your top tip for contract success?
Think about contracts with the end user in mind, take them as an opportunity to create a unique, pleasant and even enjoyable experience for the user - after all, they form the start of many of our most important relationships.
What has been the best thing about working at Juro so far?
The team! Juro has a unique emphasis on learning, and a culture which encourages curiosity, making it a fun and dynamic place to work. There is a huge amount of excitement around what we are doing and every day is different. The miniature dachshund comes a very close second!
If you were trapped on a desert island, which 3 items would you bring?
It would have to be a sudoku book, pen and a pack of playing cards.
Thanks Alice - welcome to the team! Let’s hope you never have to play solitaire on that island...
