Alina recently joined Juro as a Product Designer. With experience designing at Kalo and having gone through Entrepreneur First, Alina will be working closely with our product team as we bring great design to legal.
Hey Alina, welcome to the team! Tell us a bit about your journey to Juro.
Thank you, good to be part of it! Well, I was first approached some time ago as I had a background that would fit the company really well (I’ve been working before on B2B SaaS companies). I got in touch some months later and that first meeting gave me a very good impression of the company: the product was exciting, the team seemed cool, so I joined!
What are you responsible for at Juro?
I am responsible for all things design. My primary focus is doing UX/UI for our platform, but sometimes I allocate time for marketing design as well.
What got you interested in legal tech in the first place?
I believe it’s still a pretty uncharted territory from a tech perspective which is exciting. There are a lot of changes that can be done to improve how things are currently done in the legal space, Juro being one of the services which helps make the process more seamless. It’s also a domain I didn’t know much about and the possibility to make a big impact on how things are done design-wise seemed like a really interesting opportunity!
How do you think design can help legal services?
It can shift the idea of legal services being rigid and “boring” to a more human, design-centered approach. For example, this is what Juro is trying to achieve with contracts! Instead of contracts consisting of plain text, why not make them more approachable and easy to read by redesigning them, adding text, images, different types of ways to sign, (even emojis!)?
What are your favourite parts of our current product?
I think the feature that impressed me the most is the contract view and digital signing in the platform. It’s nice to see a contract that is design-centered and also removes the hassle of having to print, sign and scan the contract. The process of filling out and signing a contract is definitely 10x better with Juro!
What are you most excited to work on?
The platform’s editor. It’s an amazing feature which changes the way contract are viewed, filled out and signed. Lots happening there.
What has been the best thing about working at Juro so far?
It’s a mixture of things to be honest. It’s not just the product, it’s also the team I am working with which is amazing! Everybody’s really great at what they do!
If you were trapped on a desert island, which 3 items would you bring?
My iPhone, a tent and sun lotion!
Thanks Alina - excited to have you onboard!
